Costa Rica Traverse

The trip was wonderful, thanks! The local operator, Coast to Coast, were very well organised and especially Danny, the lead guide, was the best guide I have ever seen in action. It was a privilege to be guided by such a well-rounded and versatile person - from navigating and motivating the group, to cooking (delicious food) and patching up blisters. And always with a smile on his face.

I am already planning my next trip with World Expeditions - rafting on the Franklin River in Tasmania.

School Group Adventures & Expeditions

WELCOME TO WORLD YOUTH ADVENTURES

World Youth Adventures (WYA), a division of World Expeditions, is a specialist in school group adventures to some of the world’s most captivating destinations. Our experience in organising secondary school group adventures spans two decades. We are passionate about immersing young people in environments that offer unique experiences, which are bound to have profound, life changing effects.

But WYA takes this a step further by involving students in a ‘hands on’ project that will help an underprivileged community leaving a positive and permanent benefit for the peoples of that community. Students will experience the joy of giving without the expectation of reward or reciprocation when they give their time and physical effort to those less fortunate.

Peter HillaryA MESSAGE FROM PETER HILLARY:

"Since the age of seven, when my father (Sir Edmund Hillary) first took me climbing, adventure has been my life. As an adventurer, I have experienced many highlights, such as reaching the summit of Mount Everest twice (1990 and 2002) and achieving the Seven Summits (2008). However, I know that these successes would never have been possible had it been for the apprenticeship I completed in my early years.

As a young man, I participated in many of my father's expeditions and projects, including travelling to the North Pole, up the Ganges River in India and climbing in the Himalayas, as well as helping the mountain people of Nepal. I firmly believe that young people need to experience the satisfaction and the challenge of being out in nature as well as assisting people in need. With these early life experiences much can be achieved. I thoroughly recommend school communities get involved in World Youth Adventure's programme."
