The landlocked nation of Botswana in southern Africa is bordered by South Africa to the south and southeast, Namibia to the west, Zambia to the north, and Zimbabwe to the northeast. Botswana is predominantly flat and is dominated by the Kalahari Desert which covers close to 70% of the land surface. The Okavango Delta found in the north west of the country is known as the world’s largest inland delta. Botswana’s diverse areas of wildlife habitat, including the Okavango Delta, the Kalahari Desert, savanna and grasslands makes it home to many mammals and birdlife.
