Mt Kilimanjaro Trek

The walk up Kilimanjaro was absolutely amazing – a real personal challenge. I was fortunate enough to make it to the top and I have to say, the view from the top has to be the best view I have ever experienced. From Kili the safari was really stunning.

Kenya

Take an adventure holiday in KENYA with World Expeditions, one of the world’s leading travel companies.

Kenya located in Eastern Africa is bordered to the north by Ethiopia, in the northeast by Somalia, in the south by Tanzania, to the west by Uganda and Sudan to the northwest. Along the southeast border of Kenya is the Indian Ocean. Although lying on the Equator, Kenya is blessed with a varied landscape. The landscapes, range from vast desert land in the north, through the forest and snow-capped central regions of Mount Kenya (5199m or 17,057 ft), to the grassy plains and savanna in the south to the humid coastline. The Great Rift Valley runs the length of the country and is home to an amazing selection of animals.

Kenya’s varied landscape is home to much wildlife including the ‘Big Five’ – lion, leopard, buffalo, rhinoceros and elephant. A significant population of other wild animals, reptiles and birds can be found in the national parks and game reserves in the country. Most notably is the Masai Mara, which is a large reserve in south western Kenya which is famous for its exceptional population of game as well as the annual migration of wildebeest every July and August.

Just as the landscapes of Kenya are varied, so is World Expeditions style of adventures in Kenya. Choose from a challenging trek to the summit of Africa’s second highest peak, Mount Kenya, or walk alongside the Masai tribes people in the Masai Mara viewing the plethora of wildlife, take a game drive in a national park or walk with the Samburu visiting their villages and experiencing traditional African way of life first hand.
